Our Story
It is often said that the greatest plans and ideas are formed in the pub.
So, one night, bursting with youthful optimism (and a few ciders), an idea -- a challenge, was conceptualised.
The length and breadth of the island. On a 70 year old tractor. Dover Castle -- Land's End -- John O'Groats -- and back to AGCO Head Quarters -- Help for Heroes.
To make it more difficult (sorry, interesting) for ourselves, the steed we have chosen is a Ferguson TE20 tractor from the late 1940s, an icon of British engineering and industry.
So we are looking at a journey of around 2000 miles. At 10 miles per hour.
This means around 2 weeks of driving for the majority of the day… not accounting for any breakdowns or navigational mishaps.
The reason for taking on this challenge is to raise money for Help For Heroes. We hope that with enough sponsorship and fund raising, we will collect £5,000 for this fantastic cause.
We would be very grateful if you could make a donation, small or large, to something that will definitely help, and change lives. The link "Donate" to show our webpage on Just Giving. We are registered with Help For Heroes as you will see.
The plan is to start the challenge on the 17th June and with a bit of luck we will be in Coventry by the 4th July 2012.
Please click the "donate" link; all donations will be received with great thanks to you for making this a worthy challenge that will make a difference…
